I have provided links to web sites that may answer questions you may have about the retina. VRMNY- Vitreous/Retina/Macula Consultants of New York -This site contains information on the anatomy of the eye, Diabetic Retinopathy, Vitrectomy surgery, Amsler Grid testing of vision, Central Serous Retinopathy, Macular Holes, Macular Puckers, Photodynamic Therapy, Retinal Vein Occlusions, Posterior Vitreous Separation (detachment), Retinal detachment, Fluorescein Angiography and Indocyanine Green Angiography, Angoid Streaks and PXE, and more.

Macula.org- The Macula Foundation, Inc- This site contains many great illustrations of the eye, explains Macular Degeneration and much more information on Macular diseases.

IRPA.org- Retina International- A voluntary charitable association of 34 national societies each of which is formed by people with retinal degenerative diseases such as Retinitis pigmentosa (RP), Usher Syndrome, Macular Degeneration

The Retina Center- Includes information and photographs of eye problems.

Macular degeneration and smoking- Information about Macular Degeneration and how smoking increases the risk. Also information on how Diabetes affects the retina. Also includes photographs of Diabetes and macular Degeneration.

Diabetes.org- American Diabetes Association- Information on Diabetic Retinopathy, who's at risk, treatment for Retinopathy, and some advice on prevention of disease.

AMDF- Great site for information on Macular Degeneration, both "wet" and "dry" and info on the latest treatment for Macular Degeneration- Photodynamic Laser Therapy.

American Academy of Ophthalmology- The official site of the AAO, a little complicated to navigate but has good information for those who really look for it.

Retina - Doctor.com - Don't have an Ophthalmologist or looking for a second opinion? Visit this site! It is a nationwide directory listing of Ophthalmologists. Doctors are listed by state, city, or zip code in which they practice.
